I used to grill with mats, which was useless, they just smother the smoke. This sits straight over the flame and does the opposite. Big difference.

Bought it for my husband who already has every grill gadget going and it's the one thing he actually uses, every weekend, instead of it ending up in a cupboard. Pretty happy with it.

Used to put my cast iron pan on the grill but the food tasted the same as doing it inside on the stove, so I could never see the point of firing up the grill at all. This actually lets the smoke through so it tastes properly grilled. Pan's staying in the kitchen now.
